1. Mountain Top
First things first! Welcome to the guild if you have joined already, or thanks for your interest in MT. We are a relaxed guild of friends who enjoy the game probably as much as you do. Primarily, the guild is a PvE raiding guild, with interests in raids, dungeons, questing and the like. While we dabble in PvP for funsies, it doesn't take the focus of the guild. You are more than welcome to enjoy PvP activities and organize them as you see fit.
2. Joining the guild
Joining the guild is easy. If you haven't yet, fill out an application on our site. The people that can invite are:
Kierkan
Gneisha
Jurundra
BIlliebob
Lolumadrofl
Linneaus
Exocake
If we aren't online, we are probably on an alt. Whisper a member of the guild to see which one we're on. Periodically, we look for specific roles to fill, but generally have an open door policy for recruitment. If you're into what we are, then welcome aboard (and yes, I stole that from the Canadian Army's slogan, el oh el) (Side note, Canada has an army?).
3. Code of Conduct
This is the Code of Conduct that <Mountain Top> expects its members to abide by. Members who do not follow these rules will receive disciplinary action.
- No offensive slurs are allowed, in any form of public or guild communication. This includes sexual and racial slurs, or derogatory comments against people of other cultures. Find your inner peace and keep it to yourself.
- Be kind to others. It's the golden rule!
- Follow the Blizzard Code of Conduct at all times. Getting banned is not cool and it's not fun.
- Be willing to help your guild and guildmates when you can.
4. Ranks
TBA
5. Raiding
MT is primarily a 10 man raiding guild that focuses on the current tier of content. We generally aim to raid 2 nights per week for about 3 hours each night. We try to keep a good core group together that raids every week, in addition to having two more 10 man groups that are also up to date on the current tier of content. If you are looking to raid, we do have a couple of rules for you to adhere to, as follows:
- Be helpful. Please understand the sheer amount of work our officers and guild master put into make this guild successful. While we all have our own responsibilities, going above and beyond your normal role or rank is never frowned upon. Maintaining a positive attitude and contributing in any way you can will help us create a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
- Be prepared. This goes for everyone, including raiding officers. This means BE ON TIME, BE INFORMED and PAY ATTENTION. If you are not online and in the raid at 5 minutes before raid time officially starts, we have the right to invite someone else to fill your spot.
- Communicate. Talk in Mumble, browse and contribute to the forums, talk in guild chat, whisper your role officer, or send in-game mail to an officer. You need to make an effort to not only convey to us your ideas, thoughts, and availability, but listen to us as well. You must at least register on the website and stay informed on our latest news and announcements. Your biggest responsibility is to keep your role officer and raid leader informed about your availability.
Other raiding things of note:
Alts in Raids:
Unless the raid is advertised specifically as an alt-raid, you may not bring your alt to any <Mountain Top> run raid. Our goal with all raids is efficient and quick clearing, especially on farm content. If there is a specific need for a certain role, and the officers feel it necessary, you may be asked to bring an alt. However, you may NOT request to bring one of your alts for any reason, especially the following:- You don't need loot on your main.
- You're bored of playing your main.
Neither of those are valid reasons for bringing an alt.
Switching Mains:
Generally, this is not something we're going to allow except for very specific situations, which will be handled on a case by case basis. You may present a case for a main switch to your role officer, who will then take it to the other officers for discussion. However, don't be surprised if your request is denied.
For the upcoming expansion, Mists of Pandaria, everyone will receive a grace period where they may try out other classes and possibly switch their mains without repercussions. Be careful what you choose, however, as you'll most likely be stuck with it once we're in the full swing of MoP raiding.
Loot
Loot is handled by a /roll system with a touch of Loot Council. Most of the time rolls will decide who receives loot, but we feel a piece would be better suited to someone else, we may reassign it. Generally, this will only affect you if we're trying to get everyone their four-piece bonus from tier sets or helping our tanks and healers gear up.
If we reassign a piece you won to someone else and you handle it graciously, good things could be in store for you.
Your favorite ice cream bar is a "Cornetto." Yay, you've found the secret answer!
6. Forums
We have a forums page, as you may have noticed, you are browsing it currently. Feel free browse the many pages we have inside the forums, but please keep it legal. That is to say, not posting offensive material, naked pictures (Enjin doesn't appreciate this one), or anything that doesn't quite seem right to post on the forums. The only exception to this rule is the section of the forums called "Things Eric Likes". This section has a constant NC-17 rating on it, so don't say we didn't warn you. However, you still need to be mindful of what you're posting. In general, don't be rude; pay each other the respect you would like to have paid to you.
Gneisha is the main moderator of the website. Any wrong-doing will earn infractions against you, and if you continue bad behavior, you will receive a ban from posting.
7. Mumble
We have a Mumble server and we would like you to join us! This is where people primarily hang out when were in game, and sometimes off. We are a social guild and as such, we like to talk. Of course, you are still welcome to use guild chat in game if you don't want to hop in mumble, we won't hold it against you. Please don't nom nom on your mic when you are talking, it's not pretty. If you have music playing, please either play it through your headphones, or keep it quiet so as not to make it hard to hear you. And if someone else is speaking, wait until he/she finishes; we learned this in kindergarten, yes?
Mumble IS required for anyone wishing to raid. You don't need a microphone, but you will be expected to listen.
The Mumble server information is in the guild information in-game.
8. Closing!
We hope you have fun and enjoy your time in MT! If you have any questions regarding this Guild Charter, please whisper or speak to one of the officers mentioned above. You can also post a reply in this thread or send a private message to an officer via the website. Thanks for reading!
